Topical Stimulants

A little more bang for your buzz.

What would sex be without stimulation? Well… it wouldn’t be. Sex is all about stimulating our minds and bodies in all the ways that feel just right. So why not amp it up with just a little bit more? Topical stimulants are creams, lotions, balms, gels, etc. that are applied with the intent to intensify. They do a great job of adding an extra ounce of zing to any sexy situation and come in many different varieties.

Generally, all topical stimulants are striving to achieve the same goal; increasing intensity. But that doesn’t mean they are all going to feel the same. Some topicals only focus on increasing sensitivity. Other topicals spice it up with additional sensations like cooling, heating, or a mixture of the both. There are even topicals made to feel like an electric tingle for a more charged experience. Whatever itch you have to scratch, there’s very likely a stimulant for you. But where exactly should we be scratching?

How Does this Stuff Work?

Topical stimulants are best applied to external areas that already have a decent amount of sensitivity themselves, or enough nerve endings to bear the load. These places we like to refer to as erogenous zones. Specific areas with soft sensitive skin are great examples of erogenous zones. This could be the nipples, clitoris, or even head of the penis. Now, it should be said that not all stimulants are made equal and are primed with different intensities. If you’re shopping in a way where you can readily ask questions, definitely do so. The last thing you want to do is show up to the fire-works with too little, or too much, fire-power. â€‹â€‹

Essentially, these topicals trick your body into thinking it’s sensing something that in reality,  it’s not. The most common trick is to make your body think it needs to send more blood to an area. However, they can also fool your body into thinking a spot is colder, or buzzy/vibrating. A few minutes after application, your body will fall for it, and you’ve got the best prank you’ll ever play. The area engorges, becomes more sensitive, and it's go time. Add warming, cooling, or tingling and you’ve got yourself a beautiful melody of sensations.

Any personal sensitivities aside, all the topicals are not only safe for external use but some are even designed just for tasting. With a wide array of flavors, you can expect a pleasant taste while leaving your tongue and its target tingling. They are a perfectly safe and stimulating way to spice up your sex-perience, and can be used in just about every scenario. It’s not exaggerating to say topicals are, if anything; a sensation sweeping the nation.

What's in these anyway?

Any of you health conscious sex scientists out there might be thinking… “If it's playing with temperature and bloodflow… Isn’t there a good chance it’s something that could irritate me?” To which we say; great question entirely theoretical person! We’re glad you theoretically asked! Unless you know you have a sensitive body, or have had negative experiences with lubricants/body toppings in the past; you should have no issues.

These topicals are made from skin safe ingredients and get most of their function from plant derived ingredients such as; Menthol, Ginseng, Citrus, Rosemary, Cinnamon, Capsicum, Sanshool, or even Radishes. But just because they are skin safe does not mean that they are approved for internal use like a stimulating lubricant. If you’re unsure, ask questions and trust your body. If any of these topicals are causing an uncomfortable or painful reaction, then stop right away and clean off.
